THE PROBLEM
Since the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in 1619, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) across the United States of America have been subject to oppression, racism, and inequities. In order to change the racial narrative for BIPOC students and their White counterparts in schools across the nation, it will require antiracist leaders to have the courage and boldness to unapologetically dismantle systemic racism in education. Education is the pillar to changing the world for future generations to come. School systems across America continue to have systemic racism that negatively impacts Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students and exacerbates achievement and opportunity gaps in public education.
